Homage to the Past

Respecting the artists and pioneers of the form we love, through the presentation of Ballet’s classic works, including Myrtha and the Wilis’, La Bayadere Kingdom of the Shades Act III, Grand Pas de Quatre, Paquita Grand Pas Classique and Le Corsaire’s Jardin Anime. This year enjoy trip through the Seasons, set to Glazunov’s beautiful score and the one Act comedic ballet, La Boutique Fantasque.

Exposure to the Present

Art moves forward and ballet and dance are no different. Our young artists are diversely trained and exposed to new ways of moving through works created by Guest Choreographers and our Artistic Director. This season local choreographers will create new works in a broad range of styles.

Nurturing the Future

By allowing space for the creators of the next generation to grow and develop their craft, pre-professional dancers experience the creation process from both sides, while growing and challenging their creative voice in a safe space as student choreographers and dance artists. Dancers are given the opportunity to learn what it’s like to be at the front of the studio.

Drew Skinner / Patron

I have had the opportunity to work with the Scripps Ballet Theatre several times over the years. Their artists are professional, open to learning new things, and hard workers. They consistently took risks and performed at a high standard. I like to push dancers artistically and I'm always impressed with how they dive right in, especially with the younger dancers.
